About This Opportunity:

At Canada Packers, we sell pork to both domestic and international markets. This role fills a key position in our domestic sales team, and you will learn all aspects of selling to our domestic pork customers.  The business is fast paced, and in this busy role, you will have lots of opportunity to contribute directly to the bottom line results.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Sales Team and participate in sales-related activities including in market interaction with customers. 

  • Management of ongoing communications with customers, Product Management team, Product planning team and Customer Service. 

  • Work closely with Director of Sales to develop and manage a sustainable customer base for our fresh and frozen products in domestic markets. 

  • Resolve order and inventory challenges by investigating data and history.

  • Participate in daily market calls and provide input and insights. 

  • Provide back-up and support for the domestic Sales Team. 

  • Develop a rich knowledge of plant production and supply chain. 

  • Limited travel to Brandon and Lethbridge as required.

  • Become familiar with all domestic customers and provide support and coverage for Sales team. 

  • Ability to be flexible with working hours if required.  

  • Participation in the preparation of customer facing materials and report. 

  • Assist in development of customer analytical tools.  

  • Strategic support role for new business development. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in business, business administration or supply chain and logistics preferred.

  • Ability to build relationships and cater message to various levels in the organization (Master Data, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain). 

  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with excellent presentation and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while being proactive and performance driven.

  • Strategic thinking skills with the ability to understand strategic priorities.

  • Highly motivated; capable of delivering winning results work and able to work collaboratively with others.

  • Ability to travel to various customers on a regular basis to be in tune with the market, perform reviews and provide internal updates on our products as well as those of the competition. 

  • Ability to adapt to working hours in various time zones; willing to handle work outside of normal office working hours when required. 

  • Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite; experience within an SAP environment is an asset.

  • Working knowledge of the domestic food industry would be an asset.

  • The expected annual compensation for this role is $68,000 - $87,000. This includes base salary and eligibility for our annual incentive program. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
