The Sr. Specialist, Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable is responsible for overseeing all accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) activities for Canada Packers, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of customer billings, collections, vendor payments, and related reconciliations. This role provides supervision support to AR and AP staff while also owning the integrity of receivable and payable reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, and process improvements. The Sr. Specialist will work closely with the Manager, Financial Processing, assist to drive efficiency, strengthen controls, and leverage automation tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Power Automate to modernize finance operations.

Supervise daily AR and AP operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, credits, collections, and vendor payments.
Monitor open receivables and payables, resolve discrepancies, and follow up on overdue or exception items.
Ensure adherence to company policies, approval matrices, and internal controls.
Reconcile subledger-to-general-ledger reconciliations and investigate variances.
Prepare and publish weekly/monthly reports for management review related to AR and AP metrics, aging, deductions, cash flow.
Support internal and external audit requests related to receivables and payables as needed.
Utilize SAP effectively for transaction processing, reporting, and reconciliations.
Develop and maintain advanced Excel models and reports (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query).
Identify opportunities to automate manual or repetitive processes using Microsoft Copilot and Power Automate.
Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and performance feedback to AR and AP staff.
Support training and development to build team capability.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Treasury.
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA designation or progress toward CPA is an asset.
5+ years experience in accounts receivable and/or accounts payable roles
Prior experience supervising or leading a finance operations team
Hands-on experience working with SAP (ECC or S/4HANA preferred)
Strong knowledge of AR/AP processes, controls, and reconciliations.
Advanced Excel proficiency and strong analytical skills.
Ability and willingness to automate processes using Microsoft Copilot and Power Automate.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

The expected annual compensation for this role is $71,000 - $91,000 per year. This includes base salary and eligibility for our annual incentive program. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
