About this opportunity:

Location: Landmark
Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Salary: Starting wage from $25.00 per hour.
Schedule: Rotating shifts that include weekends, and holidays.

Are you an experienced Class 1 driver who is passionate about animal welfare, safety, and reliable transportation? As a Livestock Truck Driver at Canada Packers, you will play a key role in the humane and responsible transportation of livestock (pigs) between our manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities:

Working closely with the Transportation Team, your daily responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring the humane transportation of livestock (pigs) in accordance with Canada Packers’ animal welfare standards and guidelines.

• Strictly following all biosecurity rules and policies.

• Performing daily pre-trip and regular truck/trailer inspections.

• Reporting all maintenance or mechanical concerns to the supervisor.

• Maintaining a clean, organized tractor/trailer unit at all times.

• Completing all required paperwork accurately and on time.

• Working flexible hours, including some weekends, based on operational needs.

• Operating in extreme temperatures ranging from +40 to -40 degrees Celsius.

Skills & Experience:

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application. Proof of eligibility may be requested during the recruitment process.

• Valid Class 1A Driver’s License with a favorable Driver’s Abstract.

• Got experience? We’re looking for drivers with at least 1 year behind the wheel with a Class 1A license, and if you’ve got 3–5 years of truck/trailer experience, even better!.

• Minimum 1 year of livestock handling experience.

• Strong communication skills (oral and written). 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

• Comfortable working in physically demanding conditions and extreme weather.
